Each store location has a manager and assistant manager who are responsible for their store's sales and profitability. In addition, each product category - produce, meat, and bakery - has a manager who is responsible for the sales and profitability of that department. At all levels of management, C&K has a compensation and bonus plan which rewards highly motivated and proven managers based on their ability to increase sales and the bottom line.

Employees

As of December, 2004, the Company has over 2,200 employees. C&K's management has always felt that its greatest success story is the caliber of employees it attracts and retains. None of the company's employees are represented by a union primarily because there is no demonstrable benefit to C&K's people in unionizing. The Company offers wages, benefits and working conditions which equal or exceed those found in a union shop.
